A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following an incident in London Road in Beccles in the early hours of Saturday, January 4.
A 41-year-old man sustained cuts, bruising and a possible fractured eye socket as a result of the incident.
Police appealed for information following the altercation which happened around 1.50am close to the junction with Alexandra Road as the 41-year-old walked along the road with a friend.
The 20-year-old, from Harleston, was arrested yesterday, Tuesday, January 14, and was taken into custody where he was interviewed by officers about the incident.
He has now been bailed to return to police on February 14 pending further enquiries.
