Two men have been arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft after being spotted by police on patrol in Beccles in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were on patrol in the area of the quay as part of the current Safer Neighbourhood Team priority to prevent marine thefts.
A man was spotted in the vicinity of boats and he ran of when he saw the officers
A search was made and the two men, both aged 24, were found in a vehicle in St Benedict’s Road a short time later.
A quantity of tools were also recovered.
Both were arrested and are currently in custody where they are being interviewed by officers.
