FIREFIGHTERS were yesterday sent out to quell flames which had taken hold amongst a large amount of tyres at the edge of a field.
The service was alerted to the blaze at 11.13am in Skeltons Drove, Beck Row. Fire crews from Mildenhall and Brandon were sent and a spokesman for the service said there was a “large quantity of tyres on edge of field well alight”.
They used water from a nearby dyke to bring the incident under control by 12.13pm.
