A female pedestrian suffered serious injuries following a collision in Beck Row, near Mildenhall.
Police were called by a member of the public shortly after 4.30pm today to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the A1101 close to Rookery Drove, where a black Mercedes had collided with a woman in her 60s who was walking on the pavement.
The woman was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by air ambulance and the male driver of the Mercedes was taken to West Suffolk Hospital, where his injuries were not considered to be serious.
The road was closed for a serious collision investigation to be carried out.
Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Pc Jason Lambourne on 101.
