AN APPEAL for information after a nine-year-old girl was approached by a stranger has been dropped after it turned out to be a teacher from her school.
Police issued the appeal yesterday after the girl was approached by a man in a navy blue car in Church Road, Beyton.
Suffolk Police have confirmed they are satisfied this was a genuine approach by a concerned teacher working at the local school.
Beyton Middle School contacted an officer at the Mid Suffolk South Safer Neighbourhood Team this morning confirming that the man was in fact one of their teachers who was concerned that the young girl was standing near to the school in her uniform quite sometime after the school day had ended.
The parents of the girl have been updated and advised accordingly.
