Gale force winds have caused a double decker bus with passengers on board to roll over in to a field in Suffolk.

A lorry has also over turned in Mendlesham due to the storm.

The bus drama unfolded near the A1071 in Coram Street, Hadleigh, around 8am.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said there were several people on board at the time.

All the passengers escaped without serious injury but the driver- thought to be in his 40s - was trapped.

Emergency services broke through the windscreen to free him, and he was removed from the vehicle on a spinal board.

The lorry is currently blocking the junction between Norwich Road and Town Lane in The Street, Mendlesham.

Emergency services are on the way to the scene to deal with the incident.
