Biker taken to hospital after collision with van

A motorbike rider was taken to hospital after a two vehicle collision in Lowestoft this afternoon.

The incident just after 1pm, on Belvedere Road between Asda and the Bascule Bridge, involved a Renault Trafic van and a Kawasaki ZX 600 motobike.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: “We were called at 1.15pm to reports of a two vehicle collision involving a motorbike and a van by the ambulance service.

“The motorcyclist went to hospital but nothing thought to be serious and the road was clear at 3.10pm.”

“We got a call at 1.09pm that a motorbike and van had been in collision. A rapid response vehicle and ambulance were dispatched.

“The patient, aged in his 50s, was not seriously injured, but did require treatment after being assessed for left shoulder and next pain. He was taken to James Paget University Hospital for further care.”
