THE roof of a Suffolk chapel collapsed after a fire destroyed part of the building in the early hours of this morning.
The blaze broke out in the churchyard in High Street, Clare at around 4.25am.
Crews from Clare and Long Melford tackled the flames, which had engulfed a chapel, measuring five metres by five metres.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Resuce Service said the building was well alight and the roof collapsed as a result of the blaze.
