FIREFIGHTERS were called after a blaze broke out a prison.
Crews were called to Blundeston prison for a fire in a ground floor recreation room shortly before 12pm. The incident was tackled before crews arrived, however the cause is not known.
A Prison Service spokesperson said: “A minor fire was detected and quickly extinguished by staff at HMP Blundeston.
“The fire service were called and attended as a matter of procedure. There were no injuries to prisoners and three members of staff received hospital treatment as a precautionary measure.
“There was no loss of accommodation and no disruption to the prison regime.
