An investigation has been launched after a blaze involving two boats in Colchester.

Both boats at Hythe Quay are described as “completely alight” by the Essex Fire and Rescue Service incident commander.

Firefighters from the town, Brightlingsea and Clacton and battling the flames.

They were first called at 4.13pm, and had extinguished the fire by 4.55pm using four hose reel jets.

An investigation will now be carried out into the cause of the blaze.
