A MOTORBOAT is currently being towed ashore after springing a leak and starting to sink.
The 25ft vessel, Red Snapper, was off the Essex coast and is being towed back to Titchmarsh marina by Walton lifeguard.
A spokeswoman for the coastguard said they received a call at about 3.38pm to the vessel after it had some trouble on board.
A piece of equipment on board is believed to have melted causing a hole which meant the boat started to sink.
The coast guard crew managed to stem the flow and are now towing the boat ashore. Only one person is believed to have been on board when the incident happened.
