A BODY has been recovered from a Suffolk river after it was spotted by a member of the public early today, police have confirmed.
A BODY recovered from a river in Bury St Edmunds today is believed to be an elderly woman.
A member of the public contacted police at 8.20am after spotting what he thought was a body in the River Lark off Eastgate Street.
Police spokeswoman Lisa Crane said: “The body has now been recovered and is believed to be that of an elderly woman.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and next of kin will be informed before the death is passed to the coroner.”
