POLICE are investigating the death of a newborn baby after its body was found at a waste recycling plant.
The baby, which has yet to be identified, was found amongst rubbish and police are treating the death as suspicious.
A worker at the site in Peterborough made the grim discovery early this morning.
It is not yet known if the baby is a boy or girl.
At a press conference this afternoon, Detective Inspector Jim McCrorie of Cambridgeshire police, urged the mother of the baby to come forward.
He added that the recycling plant takes waste from around the Peterborough area and throughout the Midlands.
