AN investigation has been launched after a man's body was found in a river in Colchester.
Police were called to the River Colne close to East Street at 7.40am by a member of the public who had spotted the body in the tidal stretch of water.
The area was taped off this morning and a team of divers recovered the body of a man in his 20s from the water and are now carrying out further investigations.
However an Essex Police spokeswoman said the death is not thought to be suspicious at this stage.
A post mortem will be carried out later and detectives have confirmed the man's death to his family.
It is understood that he lived in Colchester.
