A van driver punched a motorist in the face during a road rage attack in Suffolk, police have said.

A blue Renault Clio and a white van narrowly avoided crashing in The Street, Botesdale, at around 12.45pm on Tuesday.

Police said the driver of the white van got out of his vehicle, approached the driver of the Renault Clio, who was still in the vehicle, and punched him through an open car window.

The van driver then drove off towards the A143 Diss.

The victim suffered a nose bleed, bruising and a cut.

The offender is described as white, in his mid-30s, around 5ft 9ins tall, of a large build, had short shaved light coloured hair and was wearing a dark coloured sweater and jeans with a diamond shaped logo on the pocket.

Witnesses are sought. Call police on 101.
