The mayor of a Suffolk town has raised more than £650 for charities after holding a bowling event.
Old Newton Bowling Club held the event, which was hosted by the mayor of Stowmarket, Barry Salmon.
More than 60 people attended the event, which included music from Mid Suffolk Brass. The money will go towards Mr Salmon’s chosen charities – Combs Ford Pre-School, Mid Suffolk Brass and the Stowmarket branch of the East Suffolk Association for the Blind.
The next mayor’s event will be a charity quiz night at 7pm on November 5 at Stowmarket Community Centre. Tickets are £10 including fish and chips. Visit stowmarket.org for more information.
