TWO teenage boys from Colchester have been jailed for the killing of a young mother whose body was dumped in a river.

Alex Young, 17, was found guilty of murdering 24-year-old Helen Maughan at a trial in Chelmsford last month and has today been sentenced to life in prison.

A judge at the Old Bailey recommended he serve at least 15 years in prison.

Lewis Hayward, 14, who was found guilty of manslaughter at the trial, has been jailed for four years and was told he will serve another two years on license after his release.

Miss Maughan, of Propelair Way, died as a result of multiple injuries and immersion in water and her body was found floating in the River Colne near Quilters pub by a member of the public.
