A former serviceman from Braintree injured in a motorcycle crash will be featured in a short film alongside the motorsport team for wounded veterans he competes with in a special video for the Invictus Games.
Warren McKinlay drives for the all-disabled Team BRIT squad in the Fun Cup racing series, with the team attempting to be the first all-disabled outfit to compete at Le Mans in the next three years.
Now, their inspirational story will feature in a BBC video short to be shown during the Invictus Games – an international sporting event for wounded and injured service personnel.
Mr McKinlay said: “We are all so proud to be featured as part of the BBC’s coverage around the Invictus Games.
“Team BRIT’s roots are in the military and the Invictus Games are all about celebrating the amazing determination of wounded or sick service personnel to excel in sport.
“As a team, we know what competitive sport can do for injured and disabled people and I hope that our story, along with that of the competitors will inspire others to give it a try.
“The fact that we have now opened our doors to civilian disabled drivers means that even more people can try something they never thought possible.”
