THE leader of a council in Essex is to pay visits around his district to answer questions from members of the public about its future policies and priorities.
Graham Butland and other senior councillors will be in Witham, Braintree and Halstead town centres over the next two weeks to listen to views and suggestions about Braintree District Council.
The consultation sessions are one of several ways that councillors are trying to improve their understanding of local people's concerns and priorities before next year's budget is put to the council's cabinet.
Councillors are keen to hear what residents think about the proposals for it to share public premises with other organisations, which organisations it should operate with, and where they should be located.
Mr Butland said: “This is one of several opportunities for people to tell me and leading councillors what they think about the council's priorities and how their council tax should be used for local services.
