TWO men were hospitalised following an incident involving fireworks over the weekend.
The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) were alerted to Tye Green in Braintree on Saturday at around 8.25pm.
Two ambulance crews, a rapid response car and the trust’s hazardous area response team were scrambled to the scene.
Spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “One of the men involved received a serious foot injury and the other received a leg injury.
“Following treatment by the ambulance crews, the man with the foot injury was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridgeshire for further care and the man with the leg injury was taken to Broomfield Hospital.”
He added: “We are asking everyone to adhere to the firework code and stay safe if you are planning a fireworks event this evening.
“If fireworks are used incorrectly the consequences can be devastating.”
