Brantham: Police appeal for witnesses to assault and robbery

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery that happened in Brantham yesterday.

The incident happened in Factory Lane at some point between 3.45pm and 4.15pm when the victim - 19-year-old man - was walking along a footpath next to the brownie hut.

He approached three men, who assaulted him causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness. When he awoke he realised his mobile had been stolen.

He sustained injuries to his face and was taken to Colchester Hospital. He has since been released.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call Detective Constable Lucy Holman from Bury CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
