SOLDIERS from the 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment are due for an emotional homecoming today as they return from a six-month tour of duty.
Ninety members of the regiment, which lost five men during its recent tour of Afghanistan, are returning to their barracks in Pirbright, Surrey.
Their return comes three days later than expected after a scheduled flight to the UK was held up due to the volcanic ash cloud.
The soldiers, from A (Norfolk) Company, nicknamed the Vikings, will be met by friends and family at Elizabeth Barracks.
