Motorists faced long delays due to a broken down vehicle on the A14 this morning.

A vehicle broke down on the westbound carriageway, near the Higham junction in the west of the county, just before 5.5am.

It led to a lane closure and severe delays stretching back before the junction for Bury St Edmunds.

Highways England said traffic conditions were expected to return to normal by 10am.
