Police are investigating a bizarre incident which happened in Suffolk village.

A resident of Bromeswell was woken when a hand appeared through an open window and touched them on the shoulder.

The hand appeared to be covered in a grey sock as it roused the sleeping resident next to the window.

Police are treating the incident as an attempted burglary and believe someone put their hand through an open window of the home in Summer Lane between 11pm and 11.30pm on Sunday, July 10.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or anyone with information about the person involved, is asked to call police on 01473 613500.
