Technology giant BT has a major presence at the Suffolk Show for the first time in many years – showcasing its work in the county and its involvement with schools and colleges.

It is also one of the partners, alongside Chronicle Digital Storytelling, which has produced the show’s first interactive smartphone app giving visitors to the event information at their finger-tips.

Jonathan Leigh-Smith from the company said that while this was its first major stand for several years it almost certainly would not be its last: “It is very important to tell people what we are doing and this is the ideal showcase.

“We have about 5,000 students from 150 schools coming to our research centre at Adastral Park – but this gives us the chance to show what we are doing to more visitors.”

The new app was produced by SmartNE in association with BT, West Suffolk College, the Suffolk Agricultural Association and Suffolk County Council.
