A BULL had to be rescued by firefighters after the trailer it was travelling in overturned.

The animal, which weighed around a ton, was being driven along Maldon Road in Ulting, near Maldon, when the accident happened at 12.20pm today.
Crews waited for a vet to arrive before they could release the animal and right the trailer.
Details of the bull's condition were not available.
