A burst water main and emergency repairs being made to a hole in the road have closed the B1061 at Withersfield Road, near Great Wratting.

The road is currently closed in both directions, and is not expected to reopen until tomorrow.

Anglian Water were on the scene to fix the fault earlier this morning.

Diversions are in place and the earlier traffic disruption has cleared.

A spokesman for the water company said: “We’d like to apologise to everyone that has been affected by this road closure. There was a lot of water on the road and it was not safe for drivers. Diversions are available and we hope the road will reopen tomorrow”.
