Two libraries in west Suffolk are hosting performances of a critically-acclaimed play tackling the topic of dementia.
The Oxford-based Human Story Theatre will visit both Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket libraries on Wednesday, July 18, to perform its show ‘Connie’s Colander’.
The story focuses on TV star Emily who brings her mother Connie’s recipes to life through her first cookery show. The play shows the pair’s relationship during Emily’s life and the impact Connie’s Altzheimer’s has on them both.
The show is being performed at 10.30am at Newmarket Library and 3pm at Bury Library.
The 50 minute play will be followed by an informal 20 minute post-show Q&A with local dementia specialists.
Tickets are free but donations to the theatre company are encouraged.
Contact 01284 732255 for tickets to the Bury show or 01638 661216 for Newmarket.
