One of East Anglia’s premier collection of artists is moving into Bury St Edmunds.

The March Hare Collective will open a permanent base in St John’s Street, buoyed by the success of the group’s regular pop-up gallery in The Apex.

The Handmade Shop and Gallery – which will be managed by collective member Jane Crick – opens on Tuesday, with a grand opening to follow later in June.

Fellow collective artist Esme Crick said: “This is a really exciting new project for Bury.

“This will be an outlet for some of the collective to show and sell their work on a regular basis. It will be a real asset to a street which already prides itself on independent shops for Bury.”

The gallery is being branded as a “one-stop shop to find perfectly unique pieces in the heart of the town”, and will feature a wide selection of works from members of the collective as well as guest artists.

These include original prints, textiles, glass, paintings, silver and gemstone jewellery, together with greetings cards and giftwrap.

The March Hare Collective was set up four years ago, and brings together dozens of artists and designers from across the region.
