A cat has been killed by having gaffer tape wrapped round its neck in a brutal attack.

The pet was found by a neighbour of the owner who was out looking for the male cat, in The Vinefields, in Bury St Edmunds.

Police have said the cat, a black and brown tabby, was strangled between 10am on Tuesday, September, 3 and 4.45pm on Sunday.

The cat had a deep laceration around its neck which police believe may have been caused by the tape.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
