FIRE crews were called out to a kitchen fire in the early hours of the morning which left a flat heavily smoke logged.
Two fire engines from Bury St Edmunds station attended the scene at The Vinefields, Bury St Edmunds, at 12.25am after reports of a smoke alarm going off and a smell of burning.
They arrived to find a small fire in an electric oven, which had already been extinguished, but they stayed behind to ventilate the smoke-logged flat.
