TRAFFIC in the centre of Bury St Edmunds was having to face detours and hold ups this morning after a lorry broke down in the middle of a road.
It was coming out of the rear of the retail park in Robert Boby Way just after 8am when it came to an abrupt halt right across the middle of King’s Road, just yards away from the Parkway roundabout.
Police cordoned off the road and motorists were having to find alternatives routes.
A spokesman said engineers were en route to deal with the problem which and were hoping to have the road open later today.
