Bury St Edmunds: Man charged with attempted robbery following alleged incident at Tesco Express store

A MAN has been charged with attempted robbery after an incident at Tesco Express in Bury St Edmunds yesterday.

Police responded to an alarm activation at the store in Horringer Road, Bury, at around 1.20pm and arrested a man who had been detained by members of the public.

Staff reported that a man had allegedly demanded cash and threatened them. No-one was hurt.

Ainsley Hale, aged 35 and of Westgarth Gardens in Bury, has been charged with attempted robbery and will remain in police custody before appearing at Bury Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
