A 28-YEAR-OLD man police were trying to trace in connection with a murder inquiry has been detained in Poland.
Suffolk Police wanted to question Pytor Melaniuk following the death of Bury St Edmunds jeweller Peter Avis on January 13.
Polish Police arrested Melaniuk last night in connection with an unrelated matter.
Suffolk Police are now liaising with the Polish authorities and the Crown Prosecution Service with a view to begin the extradition process.
Three men have been charged in relation to the murder inquiry: a 20-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder, a 34-year-old man of Lake Avenue, Bury, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and a 30-year-old man of Roslyn Road, London, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.
