Primary school students in Bury St Edmunds are enjoying the rare opportunity of learning the art of dance from a team from the Royal Ballet School.
Year three pupils from six Bury primary schools are learning from the best as part of the Primary Steps programme, which is being hosted by King Edward VI School.
Students from Guildhall Feoffment, Hardwick, Howard, Tollgate, Westgate and Sexton’s Manor primary schools are spending six weeks working closely with Royal Ballet School teachers, discovering ballet through a series of creative dance workshops.
Some of the most talented pupils will be invited to further their newfound knowledge and skills by joining weekly Primary Steps classes, hosted by King Edward VI School, for up to four years. The young people taking part will receive their training from teachers specially approved by the Royal Ballet School.
