More than 200 children have had the opportunity to see first hand the athleticism and artistry of ballet students.
Year Three pupils from six Bury St Edmunds schools gathered at King Edward VI School on Friday for a visit by the Royal Ballet School.
A group of teachers and musicians arrived together with final-year and younger Royal Ballet School students.
As well as watching the demonstrations, the Bury pupils had the chance to experience the positions and movements of ballet for themselves. The Royal Ballet School’s primarySTEPS programme is now in its fifth year in Bury and involves Guildhall Feoffment, Hardwick, Howard, Sexton’s Manor, Tollgate and Westgate primary schools.
The project, in collaboration with DanceEast and King Edward VI School in Bury, gives children the chance to learn from one of the world’s great ballet schools.
