Bury St Edmunds: Sewage leak is resolved

Raw sewage is no longer spilling onto a busy town centre street.

Police had cordoned off two areas where St Andrew’s Street South meets Woolhall Street in Bury St Edmunds this morning as a result of the leak.

An Anglian Water worker has since been at the scene and sorted the problem.

A car park at the back of offices, shops and a restaurant right on the junction was blocked off with police tape as well as an entrance further along.
