Staff at the Marks and Spencer store in Bury St Edmunds have named St Nicholas Hospice Care their chosen charity for the second year running, after raising £3,400 for the hospice in 2017/18.

The Buttermarket store’s team took part in a range of charitable efforts to support the hospice, which provides end-of-life care for people experiencing long-term or life-threatening conditions.

Abby Mayes, hospice corporate fundraiser, said: “To have raised £3,400 really is fantastic and we are so grateful to all of the staff at Marks and Spencer and everyone who has supported them along the way.

“I think what makes this extra special for me is that I know it is up to the staff to nominate their charity of the year, and we are so pleased to have everyone’s support for the second year in a row.

“Their continued generosity will help us to make a real difference in the lives of those who use our hospice services.”
