CONSERVATIVE Stefan Oliver has returned to Suffolk County Council after his party narrowly held on to the Bury Tower division in a by-election.

Mr Oliver was councillor for the neighbouring Hardwick division until he was beaten by LibDem Craig Dearden-Phillips last year.

He has now returned to Endeavour House after winning the seat that became vacant following the resignation of fellow Tory Paul Farmer.

He was pushed all the way by Independent candidate David Nettleton with Labour, the Greens, and the Liberal Democrats further behind.
