A tractor wheel came off and smashed into a grass bank as it was being driven along the A14 near Bury St Edmunds this morning.
The vehicle was heading eastbound at around 9.30am when one of its wheels detached and rolled across the carriageway.
A police spokesman said the accident caused damage to the road and left one lane closed for more than two hours while the tractor was recovered.
