ENGINEERS are working to repair a burst water main in Bury St Edmunds as soon as possible.

Anglian Water was made aware of the burst pipe in Westley Road, at its junction with Oliver Road, just after 10am.

A spokesman said four-way traffic lights were currently being set up by highways so work to repair the main would start as soon as it was safe.

He said “It’s absolutely being repaired today as soon as possible with as minimum disruption as possible.”

He added: “When we come to repair about 10 to 15 properties will go off for a short time.”

He added the cold weather was the “more than likely” cause of the burst.
