Bury St Edmunds: Woodburner fire sparks emergency alert

FIREFIGHTERS were on the scene of a blaze in a Suffolk market town tonight.

They were called out to a chimney on fire in Ridley Road, Bury St Edmunds, at 7.30pm.

One crew from Bury St Edmunds attended to find the occupant had managed to put the fire in the woodburner flue out using expanding foam.

They investigated the scene using thermal imaging cameras to ensure there were no remaining hotspots.
