A NEW accountancy firm has been created in Bury St Edmunds through a three-way merger.

Jacobs Allen, based in The Traverse, brings together the established practices of Robert Jacobs & Co, Jacobs Allen & Co and Seniors Chartered Accountants and Chartered Taxation Advisers.

Keith Senior of Seniors who is to lead the new firm, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to be able to deliver the services that progressive, proactive and forward looking accountants should be offering to clients.

“We aim to exceed our clients' expectations by actively helping them to become more successful at growing their businesses, and tailoring that help to their specific needs through maintaining a close relationship with them.”

All partners and staff from the three constituent practices - including Robert Allen from Jacobs Allen & Co and Bob Jacobs and Brian Bell from Robert Jacobs & Co - will remain closely involved with their clients ensuring that a personal service to them is maintained.

Bob Jacobs added: “We are very pleased and excited to have handed over the reins to Keith in order to further improve the range and quality of services that we can offer as an enlarged practice. Robert, Brian and I very much look forward to continue making our contribution to that.”

The enlarged firm is also strengthened with the appointment of Sheila Burke who has expertise in recruitment and in the implementation of streamlined administrative systems - skills will be applied in developing the Jacobs Allen business and also offered to clients who want to develop systems for their businesses as part of their growth strategy.
