2021 was a year of continued success for Apostle Accounting, an independent accountancy practice based in Stowmarket that provides impartial advice and support for businesses at all stages of their development.
Originally founded as a sole director company, Apostle Accounting was set up around family and it has remained family-run ever since.
“Our overall aim to provide a fully comprehensive service for all accountancy and personal and business finance needs to clients,” said director Zoe Goodchild.
In order to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for businesses’ accounting and finance needs, Apostle Accounting offers a wide range of services including accountancy, business consultancy, tax advice and start-up assistance.
It can also assist with commercial funding solutions and trust and estate planning, offer mortgage and protection advice, and it even runs an auto leasing service to help businesses source vehicles and secure the relevant lease or purchase funding solution for them.
When the pandemic arrived and brought with it a great deal of uncertainty for the UK’s business community, Apostle Accounting helped both new and existing clients to navigate the host of changes and challenges that arose, and it continues to do so now.
“We have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic, assisting clients with the various grants and schemes available to them to help as many of our client’s businesses remain open during this turbulent time," said Zoe.

“We are extremely pleased to say the huge majority have made it through and we will now work closely with them to ensure we can offer the best support and advice to enable them to grow their businesses back to pre-pandemic levels and even further!”
The dedication from the team at Apostle has seen the company go from strength to strength. With over 200 five-star reviews on FreeIndex, it is currently ranked 2nd amongst UK accountants on the site and, in 2021, the business was named Best Cloud-Based Accountancy Practice in Suffolk at the 2021 UK Enterprise Awards.
“It was amazing to be named Best Cloud-Based Accountancy Practice in Suffolk," said Zoe. “We plan to celebrate as a team later on in the year.
“We think this achievement shows any potential clients our dedication to providing the best customer service and achieving the best possible outcome for all of our clients," she added.
Apostle Accounting's clients gain immediate access to over 250 alternative UK-based commercial lenders and private banks through the company's established lender partner network. And they are supported by a professional team of financial consultants all regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
“We are incredibly proud of the team we have built,” said Zoe, “with four new members of staff taken on during the pandemic.
“It is important to recognise success as it helps us grow and determine areas within the business that have worked well for us, along with areas we can focus on improving,” she added.
“The team’s individual successes are also extremely important for their own growth and development within the company.”
As we see off the first month of 2022, Apostle Accounting is set for a year of further growth and success, with a new recruitment effort, second office and apprenticeship opportunities all on the cards.
“We hope to be able to expand our business over the next year or two,” said Zoe, “with more offices being opened and broader service offerings amongst our businesses.
“Our aim is to be able to advise on each financial question a client may have and we will be recruiting heavily for qualified individuals over the course of the next 6 months.
“We also aim to offer apprenticeships and further job opportunities as we grow, with training opportunities available to those looking to get into the finance and accounting industry.”
