Around 100 firms gathered to celebrate the work of an Essex enterprise body which helped create more than 70 businesses last year.
Over the 2016-17 period, Colchester Business Enterprise Agency (Colbea) also delivered 1,289 business support services to local businesses, including business advice, mentoring and training.
Guests including the Mayor and Mayoress of Colchester, Councillor Gerard Oxford and wife Councillor Beverley Oxford, gathered at the town’s Wivenhoe House for the celebration on October 18. It included a selection of stands, the Colbea annual general meeting and its business awards.
Chief executive Ashleigh Seymour-Rutherford said it was “a year of many achievements”.
“It is thanks to your ongoing support that we are able to support and enable local businesses right from pre-start stage, and advise them through their business growth,” she told guests.
