ELECTRICAL apprentice Ben Corke is celebrating after making it to the finals of training provider JTL's national awards at the Tower of London in February.

Mr Corke, who is employed by Saxmundham-based Plant Electrical and Plumbing Services was selected from 10,000 apprentices to qualify as a finalist. The ceremony, hosted by JTL, celebrates the achievements of apprentices from across England and Wales.

The 20-year-old, who competed against nine other regional finalists who were also in the running for the title JTL Best Apprentice 2008, was nominated for the award by his JTL training officer, Ron Hilditch, for his continued hard work and dedication to his apprenticeship training.

“It was a real honour to be the region's top apprentice and qualify to attend the national awards,” said the Saxmundham apprentice.

“I'm proud to have represented my region and Plant Electrical and Plumbing at a national event. I can't thank enough my family, JTL and employer, who have all supported me through the awards.”
