LAW firm Birketts LLP has announced a host of internal promotions across its Ipswich, Norwich and Cambridge offices. Matthew Newnham, who has worked with Birketts since 2005 when he joined the firm as a solicitor, has been promoted to a partner within the employment team in Norwich.

LAW firm Birketts LLP has announced a host of internal promotions across its Ipswich, Norwich and Cambridge offices.

Matthew Newnham, who has worked with Birketts since 2005 when he joined the firm as a solicitor, has been promoted to a partner within the employment team in Norwich. He will be joined in his new appointment by Alex Davey, who has been promoted to partner within the shipping team in Ipswich. Mr Davey has also worked with Birketts since 2005 when he joined as an assistant solicitor. This promotion has brought the number of partners in the firm to 39.

Louisa Saunders, James Robinson, Graham Wright and Lottie Seaborn have all been made Associates and Mike Richards has been made an associate (legal executive).

Ms Saunders joined Birketts in 2005 and specialises in the acquisition and disposal of commercial premises. James Robinson trained with Birketts LLP and qualified in 2004. He is now an established member of the property team dealing with a wide range of commercial matters. Graham joined Birketts in 2008 and specialises in planning and environment issues. Lottie joined Birketts in 2005 and specialises in employment tribunals and non-contentious matters, and Mike Richards joined Birketts in 1996 and deals with residential freehold and leasehold conveyancing.

Lisa Hayward (employment), Nick Burt (corporate), Greg Allan (corporate), Nathan Muskett (corporate), Elizabeth Lorton (commercial property), Hayley Goldstone (commercial property) and Amanda Angel (property) have all been promoted to senior solicitors. ”All are high calibre individuals and their elevation recognises the skill and commitment they have each invested in the firm,” said chief executive Alistair Lang.
