The fifth Ipswich 100 Index, which recognises and celebrates the achievements of businesses in the Ipswich area, is aimed at showcasing the diversity and success of local companies which are helping to transform the town's economy.

It is based on a successful national initiative, the Inner City 100 Index, a listing of fast-growing companies that have created local jobs and prosperity.

The Ipswich 100 Index is open to any companies whose registered office or head office is located in Ipswich or the surrounding area, whatever their size and business sector, and who can demonstrate successful turnover growth over the past five years.

New and existing members of the index are invited to attend a presentation ceremony, which confirms their place as one of the fastest-growing companies in the area.

The report is compiled by Ipswich Borough Council, with the help of Ensors Chartered Accountants, which collects and collates the information ready for publishing.

If you are interested in nominating a company to be featured in the 2006 Index, contact Jennie Dines at Ipswich Borough Council on 01473 432215 or email jennie.dines@ipswich.gov.uk.

The deadline for nominations is August 31.
