CTruk is nearing the completion of work on a seventh vessel for Offshore Turbine Services, (OTS) which provides crew, fuel and equipment transfer services to the offshore wind sector.
CTruk, established in 2010, builds composite high-speed marine craft with applications in the commercial, military and security and disaster relief sectors.
OTS already operates six of CTruk’s catamaran workboats, having been impressed by their speed, flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
The design and compositve construction both reduces weight and optimises hull hydrodynamics, meaning that the workboats burn less fuel.
This, coupled with the versatility of the company’s now patented moveable wheelhouse and modular deck pod system ? the passenger pod can be craned off to open up the deck area for equipment transfer ? has helped CTruk build its share of the offshore wind support market.
Phil Collins, chairman of OTS, said: “We are pleased to launch our sixth vessel, Lieutenant P, which is the latest incarnation of the CTruk 20T.
“The new vessel includes upgrades and refinements that we have worked closely on with CTruk, including bigger Rolls-Royce Kamewa waterjets which have increased the vessel’s bollard pull.”
