An Ipswich building firm has officially handed over a £4.5m scheme for a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) garden in Essex.
The year-long project at RHS Garden Hyde Hall, near Chelmsford, was carried out by Brooks and Wood Ltd, which has worked on two other major schemes at the garden since 2008.
Hyde Hall was bequeathed to the society by the Robinson family in the early 1990s and the gardens have since grown into a major attraction receiving visitors from all over the world.
The project consisted of a new restaurant, activity space and a separate learning centre.
Ipswich-based Concertus Design & Property Consultants provided architectural, landscape, mechanical and electrical design, from an initial concept design and master plan by the London architects Cullinan Design Studio, working with award-winning landscape designer Adam Frost.
